Selena Quintanilla Perez, arguably one of the most influential Latinas of our time. Many of her younger fans weren’t even born yet, before she was cruelly taken from us over 27 years ago; yet her music and her legacy continue to influence new musicians and fashionistas.
You have undoubtedly seen pictures of her in one of her many self-designed performance outfits. Who could forget the bedazzled bras and tight pants? As a teen, I wanted to wear her outfits so bad! But my mom was not having it. Selena was the total package; she was beautiful, a talented singer, dancer, designer, and the best of all, she was a truly genuine person. All of those things have led to fans continuing to honor her memory and her music.
Selena’s staying power is undeniable; as of the writing of this article, Selena has sold over 18 million units worldwide. Although there was only 4 studio albums released prior to her death, she remains one of the best-selling Latin artists of all-time. 1. “No Me Queda Mas”
It is impossible not to feel this song in every fiber of your being. We have all experienced the type of heartbreak that comes with loving someone that will never love you in return. In the recent Netflix show, Selena: The Series, we got a glimpse into the backstory of the song. If that doesn’t make it hit even harder, I don’t know what will.
2. “Baila Esta Cumbia”
Although “Baila Esta Cumbia” is one of Selena’s earlier releases, it’s staying power as a dance hit is unmistakable. It's the perfect song to get you moving on a Saturday morning for that Fabuloso cleaning.
And of course, who else except Selena could make cow print look so fashionable?
3. "Amor Prohibido"
The song that launched Selena into superstardom. "Amor Prohibido" was Selena's first solo number one hit and has received so many awards and achieved serious chart-topping success. Many of the records achieved by this song, and the album of the same name, still stand to this day. 4. "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom"
A super catchy song about love and those little butterflies that happen when you hear their voice or see their face.
Who can resist singing along with the chorus or doing a little washing machine. It's impossible not to smile and at least sing along when this song is playing.

Rounding out our list is one of Selena's best selling songs. "Como La Flor" and "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" both have gone 9x Platinum, and for good reason.
